Service principles

World CB does not use user data for advertising, marketing or commercial profiling. It does not use advertising systems, Meta Pixel, Google Analytics or GA4, Google Tag Manager, Hotjar, Clarity, PostHog, fingerprinting or cross-site tracking.

Accounts and Call Signs

World CB does not require a personal account, email address, telephone number, password or social login. You choose a Call Sign—your radio name.

The chosen name is converted to uppercase and combined with a country code, for example IT-GIANNI. It is visible to other operators on the channel and stored locally in the browser for convenience. It may be personal data if you use your real name or another recognisable identifier.

If you prefer not to be recognisable, use a pseudonym.

Country code, not precise location

World CB only uses the approximate country code supplied by the edge infrastructure to build the Call Sign prefix, such as IT-GIANNI or FR-PIERRE.

It does not use GPS or collect coordinates, city or precise location. World CB does not directly save your IP address in its application database. Infrastructure providers may process IP addresses and other technical data required for connection and security.

Data stored on your device

World CB uses localStorage, not cookies, only to remember preferences you choose: Call Sign or name, channel, Squelch, Stealth, language and any local mute preferences. This data stays on the device and in the browser and can be removed by clearing the site data in browser settings.

Realtime identifiers, presence and channels

Temporary random identifiers are generated while the service is in use. They are required for channel presence, connections between operators, transmission management, PTT lock security and WebRTC signaling. They are regenerated on every cold start or reload, do not form a permanent account and are not used to build advertising profiles.

To show operators and enable communication, World CB temporarily processes Call Sign, channel, Stealth and presence states and temporary technical identifiers. Presence has a nominal duration of 35 seconds from the last heartbeat. Operational data expires quickly and is removed through automatic cleanup processes.

Audio

World CB does not record conversations. It does not save audio files, create transcripts, perform speech recognition or semantic analysis, or make server-side recordings.

Depending on the media engine selected for the service, encrypted WebRTC audio may travel directly between devices, be carried through Cloudflare TURN when a direct connection is unavailable, or pass through Cloudflare Realtime SFU for technical forwarding to listeners on the same channel. TURN and SFU transport or forward the stream; they do not mean World CB records the conversation.

Technical diagnostics

World CB may temporarily record essential technical information about errors and malfunctions for service security and stability. This is not behavioural analytics and does not contain audio recordings or conversation content. Infrastructure providers may also retain technical logs under their own terms.

Cookies and technical tools

World CB does not use advertising, marketing or profiling cookies. Cloudflare infrastructure may set the technical cookie __cf_bm for anti-bot protection and service security. Its documented duration is 30 minutes of inactivity.

World CB does not use __cf_bm for advertising or commercial profiling and does not directly install marketing cookies.

Why there is no cookie banner

The current configuration does not use advertising, marketing or profiling tools that require World CB to collect a prior choice from you. There is therefore no “Accept”, “Reject” or “Customise” banner. If non-essential analytics, marketing, advertising or similar tools are introduced in the future, this position will be reviewed.

Technical providers

  • OpenAI / ChatGPT Sites — website hosting, publication and orchestration.
  • Cloudflare — edge and network, database and server infrastructure, anti-bot security, STUN/TURN services, and Cloudflare Realtime SFU forwarding when the channel media engine is enabled.

Infrastructure providers may process technical data through internationally distributed infrastructure under their respective terms and data-protection measures.

Retention periods

Technical dataNominal duration or criterion
PTT lock8-second lease
Realtime endpointAbout 15 seconds
SignalingNominal maximum of 30 seconds; normally removed after consumption
Presence35 seconds from the last heartbeat
Failure diagnosticsNominally 10 minutes
Temporary TURN credentials6 hours, held in memory
Browser preferencesUntil site data is cleared

Data we do not collect as application features

World CB does not request or record, as application features, email, telephone number, password, GPS, coordinates, contacts, photographs, video, audio recordings, conversation content or advertising interests.

Purposes of processing

The processing described here is carried out to provide and protect the service you request and ensure its technical operation.

Your rights

Where provided by applicable law, you may request access, rectification, deletion, restriction, objection or portability. Contact info@studioscivoletto.it. Since World CB creates no account and uses temporary identifiers, you may sometimes need to provide enough technical information to identify relevant data.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
